Position Overview
Horizon Sign Company is looking for an experienced Sign Designer/Graphic Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate is professional, solution-oriented, detail-focused, and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Please note: Sign industry experience is preferred and the candidate must be willing to occasionally assist sign makers with basic sign assembly or installation. Position also known as: Graphic Designer. This is a full-time position (8 hours per day, Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm) based in Brentwood, with installations throughout the Greater St. Louis area. Compensation: Hourly pay (commensurate with experience).
Key Responsibilities
- Design signs, vehicle wraps, graphics, menu boards, banners, and other related visual materials with a focus on color management and brand guideline accuracy.
- Create mockups and scale drawings for clients, government permits, and fabricators.
- Photograph locations to develop accurate mockups for client estimates.
- Take and edit photos of finished products for use in marketing materials.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while consulting with clients to understand and deliver on their vision.
- Provide administrative assistance, including handling phones, emails, and online queries.
- Develop and post marketing and social media assets.
- Maintain accurate electronic and paper records related to design jobs.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, support departments, and suppliers.
- Continuously learn new technologies and skills.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and ethics codes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated design creativity.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, CorelDraw, as well as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to uphold client brand guidelines, including accurate color management (PMS, CMYK).
- Valid Driver's License.
- Ability to work well under pressure while producing high-volume, high-quality work.
- Experience with order management systems, Trello job boards, and social media platforms.
- Capacity to sit and work on a computer for long periods.
- Willingness to physically assist sign makers with sign transportation and installation.
- Demonstrated ability to learn the technical aspects of the business.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior sign industry experience is highly preferred.
- Experience in designing for a manufacturer is a plus.
