Northrop Grumman is seeking a talented, self-motivated, energetic professional to join the engineering team in Boulder, Colorado as a Principal (Level 3) DevOps Engineer.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with development teams to implement Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Coordinate activities across multidisciplinary engineering teams, raise issues at the program level, and drive complex projects to success.
- Analyze system capabilities for output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls.
- Provide technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems.
- Effectively communicate and present technical subjects to project and program management, technical managers, and customers.
- Manage technical dependencies across teams.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of related experience, or a master’s degree and 3 years of related experience, or 1 year of related experience with a PhD (an additional 4 years of related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
- Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at the time of application and start.
- Experience with modern C++ (C++17, C++20), development tools, integrated development environments, and compilers.
- Proficiency in Object Oriented Programming.
- Experience developing in Linux and cross-platform (Linux/Windows) environments.
- Familiarity with modular software development architectures/practices and source control tools such as Git, CMake, and Conan.
- Experience working with Atlassian suite products (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, etc.) and revision control systems.
- Proven ability in software development and troubleshooting in a team environment.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% for business needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications: CompTIA Security+ (SecPlus).
- Current and active DoD-issued TS/SCI clearance.
- Technical leadership experience.
- Experience with Python.
- Familiarity with Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) and Electro-Optical Infrared (EOIR) sensors.
- Experience with Distributed Systems, Micro-service Architecture, & Observability Tools (e.g., Grafana, OpenTelemetry, RKE2/K3S/Tanzu/Docker Swarm).
- Experience with DevOps and DevSecOps tools (e.g., Jenkins or GitLab).
- Experience with container orchestration and deployment (Kubernetes, Docker Compose, Openshift, Rancher).
- Experience with containerization development using Podman or Docker.
- Experience with Configuration Management and Infrastructure as Code (Ansible).

- Compensation: Primary Level Salary Range: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00.
