Job Description
Position Overview
**Compensation:** This is an hourly position with a flexible salary range between $16.20 and $20.25, depending on experience. The role of Logistics Specialist involves ensuring the correct accounting of inbound and outbound goods through various warehouse system activities. You will manage the flow of goods, maintain accurate records and reports, provide proper dock management, and coordinate resources with warehouse management and other departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize warehouse systems to streamline the processing of inbound and outbound loads, including Stock Transport Orders, purchase orders, customer shipments, and deposit loads.
- Generate comprehensive reports on inbound and outbound shipments, dock management, stock availability, and yard maintenance, making necessary adjustments.
- Interface with warehouse management, various departments, and external stakeholders to monitor shipment precision, manage appointment timing, and allocate resources efficiently.
- Develop and implement a system for managing and tracking hard copy documents to ensure their accessibility.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by management, including pallet construction, to ensure warehouse security and cleanliness.
- Anticipate and accept additional duties as needed to support operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of warehouse protocols and systems with basic computer competence, including Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
- Aptitude for working efficiently in a fast-paced environment, including frequent walking and lifting up to 30 pounds; capable of lifting up to 75 pounds when required.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and effectively coordinate multiple warehouse activities.
- Flexibility to fulfill distinct job responsibilities and meet minimum task expectations.
- Capability to efficiently read and execute computer-based instructions and distinguish subtle operational differences.
- Comfortable working in environments with excessive noise and fluctuating temperatures.
- A forward-thinking mindset with the willingness to lead or suggest innovative ideas for long-term success.
- Completion of basic education (GED or equivalent).
- One to three years of relevant industry experience.
- Eligibility to obtain a certification for operating a Pallet Jack (PIT) within the first 30 days of employment for new hires.
