Job Description

Position Overview

The Business Systems Analyst serves as a key business partner at MPC, responsible for translating business requirements into effective solutions across multiple Commercial product lines (including ETRM, MPR, OM, EPSF, and PAA). This role involves process analysis, system administration, report and dashboard development, and effective communication with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides day-to-day system administration support for at least one product line within the Commercial application space (OM, EPSF, or PA&A) and supports RightAngle and other ETRM applications.
  • Conducts thorough analysis of existing processes and systems to identify areas for improvement.
  • Collects and analyzes data to identify trends and insights that inform business decisions.
  • Creates and maintains reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators.
  • Develops process maps and workflow diagrams to illustrate current and future states of business processes, identifying bottlenecks for optimization.
  • Provides input and conducts testing for the development and implementation of new systems or process enhancements.
  • Communicates with internal stakeholders and trains end-users on new systems or process enhancements.
  • Ensures business needs are clearly communicated and understood by all stakeholders.
  • Verifies that implemented solutions meet business requirements and quality standards for both short- and long-term supportability.
  • Monitors industry trends and best practices to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Prioritizes work items and adapts to changing priorities.
  • Defines business processes to measure, analyze, improve, and control performance.
  • Communicates effectively to align stakeholder understanding and identify cross-functional impacts.
  • Recommends appropriate systems alternatives and enhancements to current systems.
  • Analyzes business performance and applies continuous iterative processes for planning.
  • Performs cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems.
  • Supports initiatives to improve working processes within the team.
  • Assists with IT service management practices around incident, change, problem, and SDLC delivery methodologies.
  • Coordinates test case development, execution, and supports strategy creation for technology delivery.
  • Plans, executes, and documents user stories and gathers user feedback for prototype and wireframe development.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of relevant experience.
