Position Overview
KPS Global (KPSG) is the North American industry leader in the manufacture, production, and installation of Walk-in Coolers and Freezers. Headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas—with manufacturing facilities in San Dimas, CA; Fort Worth, TX; Piney Flats, TN; Conyers, GA; and Goodyear, AZ—KPSG serves both the retail food market and industrial applications. In this role, you will plan, organize, and coordinate all Purchasing activities to support departmental and company objectives, manage supplier accounts, lead supply chain projects, and implement Phase In & Out processes in support of production schedules and customer demand.
Key Responsibilities
- Purchase of detail parts, finished goods, and expensed items required to support manufacturing and sales.
- Stay up to date with business situations and economic conditions to address changing material requirements.
- Organize supplier meetings and visits while collaborating with Design, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Assurance, Marketing, Production Control, Sales, Customer Service, and Cost Accounting.
- Plan, organize, direct, and control all activities related to the purchasing function.
- Supervise daily operations such as buying, quoting, and material planning.
- Manage supplier accounts and communicate concerns related to price, quality, and service.
- Oversee supply chain project management while ensuring on-time status, work accuracy, and adherence to procedures.
- Hire and develop purchasing personnel and provide guidance on supplier interactions and internal collaborations.
- Ensure system parameters—such as vendor profiles, item setup, safety stock, order points, lead times, and Bills of Material—are maintained.
- Participate in multi-functional team meetings and represent the Supply Chain department on projects.
- Visit suppliers across North America (Canada, U.S., and Mexico) to build relationships, review operations, and evaluate capabilities.
- Manage and consolidate the supplier base by locating and qualifying new suppliers as needed.
- Collaborate with suppliers to implement Total Quality Management processes to enhance manufacturing capability and product consistency.
- Evaluate supplier performance on a monthly basis and provide feedback for improvement.
- Professionally resolve external and internal issues in a fair and ethical manner, protecting the long-term interests of the company.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of sourcing and supply chain management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively interface at all organizational levels.
- Proven management ability, leadership skills, strong organizational and planning capabilities, and effective negotiation skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and Bills of Material.
- Knowledge of manufacturing safety practices and relevant ERP/software applications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or Master's in Supply Chain
- APICS, CPIM certification
