Job Description
PROCESS ENGINEER – BLOW MOLDING
Hands-on, multi-plant Process Engineering role supporting large-format extrusion blow molding operations. The focus is optimizing multi-layer IBCs and plastic drums, troubleshooting complex processing issues, and developing advanced parison programming capability under one of the industry’s top technical experts.
This is a growth-driven position tied to equipment upgrades, controller conversions, and long-term technical succession planning.
Travel varies by location and could reach 50–75% depending on home base.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Hands-on troubleshooting and optimization of extrusion blow molding processes
- Work with multi-layer structures including EVOH, Nylon, PCR, and up to 6-layer configurations
- Adjust and refine linear and circumferential parison programming including PWCS control and mandrel thickness management
- Support PLC-driven process control upgrades and controller conversions
- Lead root cause analysis for quality, scrap, and performance deviations
- Develop and standardize process windows and operating parameters across multiple plants
- Train operators and maintenance teams on optimized processing standards
- Partner with reliability and maintenance teams on hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical troubleshooting
- Replicate best practices across the plant network
REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of direct extrusion blow molding processing experience required
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLC-controlled equipment
- Experience with parison programming and thickness control systems
- Background in IBCs, plastic drums, fuel tanks, or similar large-format blow molded products preferred
- Comfortable working in a multi-plant environment with 50-75% travel

This role may be advertised in multiple regions for confidentiality. Preferred plant hubs include the Midwest and Gulf Coast, but flexibility exists for the right blow molding background.
