Job Description

Position Overview

The Attending Physician, General Medicine will provide part-time general medical ambulatory care to adults in a primary care setting at John H Stroger Jr Hospital. As a vital member of an interdisciplinary healthcare team, you will deliver comprehensive, holistic care to a diverse patient population. Posting Salary: $101,798 – $137,312.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct direct patient care sessions as assigned by the Division Chair.
  • Work under the direction of the Clinic Lead for each clinical area.
  • Adapt to varied hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Travel to worksites throughout Cook County Health (CCH) as needed.
  • Collaborate with mid-level providers as part of the healthcare team in the health center.
  • Participate in staff meetings, clinical meetings, and teaching activities with medical students and other health professionals.
  • Complete all clinical duties, including timely and accurate charting of patient visits.
  • Maintain Continuing Medical Education (CME) and engage in other professional development activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Valid license as a Physician and Surgeon in the State of Illinois.
  • Clearance for privileges by Medical Staff Services prior to starting employment.
  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Internal Medicine; must obtain board certification within two years of employment.
  • Completion of a residency program in Internal Medicine.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least one year of prior experience in primary care practice.
  • Experience with electronic medical record documentation.
