Job Description
Position Overview
The Attending Physician, General Medicine will provide part-time general medical ambulatory care to adults in a primary care setting at John H Stroger Jr Hospital. As a vital member of an interdisciplinary healthcare team, you will deliver comprehensive, holistic care to a diverse patient population. Posting Salary: $101,798 – $137,312.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct direct patient care sessions as assigned by the Division Chair.
- Work under the direction of the Clinic Lead for each clinical area.
- Adapt to varied hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Travel to worksites throughout Cook County Health (CCH) as needed.
- Collaborate with mid-level providers as part of the healthcare team in the health center.
- Participate in staff meetings, clinical meetings, and teaching activities with medical students and other health professionals.
- Complete all clinical duties, including timely and accurate charting of patient visits.
- Maintain Continuing Medical Education (CME) and engage in other professional development activities.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.
- Valid license as a Physician and Surgeon in the State of Illinois.
- Clearance for privileges by Medical Staff Services prior to starting employment.
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Internal Medicine; must obtain board certification within two years of employment.
- Completion of a residency program in Internal Medicine.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least one year of prior experience in primary care practice.
- Experience with electronic medical record documentation.
