Key Responsibilities
- Conduct transportation analysis and write detailed reports.
- Participate in meetings, prepare presentations, and create public outreach materials.
- Handle project management responsibilities including tracking progress and deadlines.
- Conduct site visits to collect field data and validate project findings.
- Engage in on‐the‐job training, mentoring, and work on a variety of projects across different timelines (from initial training to managing small projects).
- Participate in professional organizations and explore internal Research and Development initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Entrepreneurial spirit with a proactive approach to communication and getting work done.
- Genuine curiosity for transportation challenges and day-to-day travel issues in your community.
- Bachelor's degree completed or Master’s degree in progress in transportation, civil or electrical engineering, urban/regional planning, or a related field (e.g., geography, math, statistics, economics).
- Relevant coursework in transportation, engineering, urban planning, or related disciplines.
- Exposure to field work, traffic operations analysis, signal design, and transportation planning methodologies.
- Experience with relevant software such as Microsoft Excel, GIS (ArcGIS, QGIS), CAD (AutoCAD, Microstation), and technical tools for traffic operations and travel demand modeling; programming experience in Python and/or R is a plus.
- Prior office work experience and a background in technical writing and public speaking.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to balance multiple priorities, and a creative approach to problem solving. EIT certification is preferred for engineering candidates.
