University of Central Florida- Payment Analyst Entry-Level Opportunities

Position Overview

The Payment Analyst position at Verizon is an entry-level opportunity designed for students from the University of Central Florida. As part of Verizon's Campus program, this role immerses you in meaningful work that delivers tangible business impact. You will support retail sales and payment transactions, engage in financial statement processes, and develop expertise in various financial topics within a dynamic finance organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide support for retail sales and payment transactions in Verizon's stores.
• Daily balancing of payments tendered and communication with store employees to resolve discrepancies.
• Conduct subledger reconciliation of point-of-sale transactions to billing systems and bank accounts.
• Perform bank account reconciliation for payment deposits across Verizon.
• Handle payment investigations and refund requests from customers using various workflow tools.
• Conduct payment research for posting payments to consumer and business accounts.

Required Qualifications

• Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Economics, Business IT, Statistics, Math, or a related field with an expected completion date between December 2024 and June 2025.
• Current enrollment in a Master's degree program in Accounting or Business with an expected completion date between December 2024 and June 2025.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.
• Willingness to work in Lake Mary, FL.

• Demonstrated independent thinking and relationship management skills.
• Strong analytical, communication, leadership, and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of data querying and analytics, record reconciliation, and SQL.
