Job Description
Position Overview
Under direct supervision, the Engineer I performs assignments designed to develop engineering work knowledge and abilities through standard techniques, practices, and procedures. This is an entry‐level role supporting small projects and studies.
Compensation: Salary Grade G08 – Minimum: $61,035, Midpoint: $80,872, Maximum: $100,709.
Note: This position is posted until filled. Candidates may be subject to NERC CIP cybersecurity assessments, credit background checks, and must complete the required cybersecurity training.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide entry-level engineering support for projects and studies that are small or repetitive in nature.
- Conduct studies or assist in larger evaluations focusing on project performance, cost, and scheduling.
- Support operational areas by communicating engineering ideas, recommendations, and evaluations.
- Represent the Company in fundamental technical matters and interact with associates.
- Apply Company and industry standards to ensure safety and consistency in engineering outputs.
- Occasionally provide technical direction and/or supervise contractors and lower-level personnel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET‐accredited institution, with 1 to 3 years of related experience.
- Must possess a current, legally valid driver's license meeting the Company's driving record requirements.
- Proficiency with engineering design programs (e.g., Autocad) and standard office software.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, codes, and standards (IEEE, ANSI, NEC, etc.).
- Strong communication skills for preparing reports, correspondence, and presentations.
- Ability to apply common-sense reasoning to complex instructions and problems under varying conditions.
- Adherence to safety practices, including successful completion of background and cybersecurity training requirements.
