Job Description
Position Overview
Securitas Healthcare empowers caregivers to deliver connected, productive, and safe care. As a Field Service Representative, you will work remotely while residing in the Baltimore, MD or Washington DC vicinity. You will primarily support the Eastern US region by traveling to customer locations for on-site installation, support, maintenance, and training of low-voltage systems used in long-term care healthcare facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent and support the Company in the field through pre-sale site surveys, equipment installations, repairs or replacements, and customer training.
- Install, configure, and commission new systems following company procedures.
- Perform service work at customer sites including troubleshooting, repair, or replacement of equipment.
- Conduct preventative maintenance by inspecting installed equipment and performing necessary repairs.
- Complete facility site surveys to assess the usability for products.
- Provide training to facility personnel on the proper operation and maintenance of installed equipment.
- Handle administrative duties including writing site visit reports, completing checklists, submitting expense reports, and maintaining inventory of equipment and parts.
- Attend construction meetings to ensure installations for new projects proceed as planned.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to cover emergency repairs on weekends or holidays.
- Customer-facing role that requires excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Demonstrate effective time management to adhere to project schedules.
- Utilize basic hand tools and operate handheld power tools as required.
- Work independently, maintaining communication with the office as scheduling demands change.
- Meet physical requirements including lifting up to 75 pounds, climbing ladders, and navigating tight spaces.
- Be available for extensive travel, including overnight stays on a regular basis (up to 100% travel).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver's License with no restrictions
- Foundational understanding of low-voltage systems evidenced by either an Associate of Applied Science degree in a related field, completion of a post-secondary Vocational Certificate program, or a related formal apprenticeship program
- Demonstrated knowledge of circuits, relays, and system installation procedures (via coursework, capstone project, or hands-on experience)
- Ability to obtain any required State licensing (e.g., Security System Technician licensing)
Preferred Qualifications
- Hold VA DCJS license and MD Security Systems Technician license
- An Associate Degree in Electronics or a related field
- Experience with wiring, cabling, and/or security or access control system installation
- Field service experience with travel to multiple customer job sites
- Experience in providing customer training
- Experience installing or supporting systems that use radio technology
- Experience with data networking
