Retail Designer

Position Overview

The Retail Designer will use creativity to design functional, safe, and aesthetically pleasing indoor and outdoor spaces by selecting key decorative elements including finishes, lighting, décor, furniture, and architectural details. This role involves engaging with clients to understand their vision and working closely with the build team to ensure design integrity. Based in Fort Worth, TX, this Contract to Hire position offers a hybrid work opportunity after training.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with clients to determine initial goals and requirements for the space.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with other designers.
• Develop concept boards and store renderings based on each client’s unique vision.
• Specify materials, furnishings, and décor.
• Create final documentation and specifications for each project.
• Coordinate with the construction team and other design consultants as needed.
• Maintain current knowledge of trends, materials, techniques, and other developments in interior design.
• Mentor junior designers on design standards and skills.
• Assign and oversee support tasks.

Required Qualifications

• Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and manage several projects simultaneously.
• A strong sense of style to create aesthetically pleasing interiors and exteriors.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of final documentation, production, and detailing.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and/or Corel DRAW Graphics Suite.
• Experience with SketchUp.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Interior Design or Architecture degree from a FIDER/CIDA accredited school.
• Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in an architecture or commercial interior design firm.
• Experience in retail or restaurant design is preferred.
