Position Overview

Tesla has an opportunity for a hybrid IT Manufacturing and Factory Software Support Tech at its Gigafactory New York location. If you are a technical expert in various areas, thrive under pressure, enjoy solving problems, and love working your way through chaos, then this role is for you. This is a unique opportunity on the front lines of Tesla manufacturing, where you will solve problems every day and interact with different technologies to support Tesla’s mission to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Primary responsibility is to keep manufacturing lines running
  • Install, support, upgrade, replace, and remediate all IT hardware along manufacturing lines
  • Quickly respond to requests and incidents from our customers
  • Troubleshoot Hardware, Operating System and software issues
  • Troubleshoot Network issues from the client up to the switch and IDF
  • Interface with the various manufacturing groups to understand issues
  • Interpret how to solve long term needs within the framework of IT MFG and FSS standards

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience within a desktop support or system admin role
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware issues and replacing hardware on Windows and Linux machines
  • Experience troubleshooting printings, barcode scanners, IP cameras, and digital signage
  • Experience troubleshooting basic client-side network (DHCP, DNS, Static IP) problems
  • Experience working with PLC; experience with Ignition is a plus
  • Knowledge of SQL queries and Splunk queries is a plus
  • Linux support experience is a plus
  • Must be available for swing shift, weekends, and on-call support
  • Network hardware support experience is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of Windows OS and Microsoft enterprise environments

Expected Compensation:

  • IT Manufacturing Support Technician II - $23.04 - $34.56/hour
  • IT Manufacturing Support Technician III - $26.64 - $39.96/hour
  • IT Manufacturing Support Technician IV - $31.32 - $46.98/hour
  • + cash and stock awards + benefits for all levels

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
