Job Description

Position Overview

We are currently seeking an Environmental Data Analytics Discipline Leader to leverage data analytics in environmental services. In this role, you will work across multiple technical practice areas to support marketing and business development initiatives, develop analytics tools and technologies, manage intellectual property (IP) and research & development (R&D) investments, and grow a team of data analytics practitioners. Your expertise will help drive effective data management and analysis solutions while ensuring the firm stays ahead of competitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct evaluations of available data analytics technologies and platforms to analyze a wide range of environmental data across various applications.
  • Assist with the technical sales, design, and delivery of data analytics solutions tailored for environmental applications.
  • Collaborate with local, national, and international technical teams in the fields of business technology and data analytics.
  • Work across multiple technical practice areas to leverage data analytics research and development activities.
  • Support marketing and business development initiatives related to environmental data analytics.
  • Engage with discipline leaders, subject matter experts (SMEs), and the environmental data analytics group to gather ideas and assess needs.
  • Coordinate efforts with multi-disciplinary teams of engineers, scientists, and other professionals to design and implement data analytics solutions.
  • Develop processes to evaluate ideas and initiatives within Business Technology aimed at developing analytics tools and technologies.
  • Manage IP and R&D investments by reviewing current projects, identifying IP for protection, and prioritizing investments.
  • Mentor and grow data analytics practitioners with the desire and aptitude to develop their skills.
  • Navigate the competitive landscape and meet the growing demand for advanced data analytics solutions in the environmental sector.
  • Market Engagement: Identify conferences, working groups, and other activities to enhance technical visibility and promote our capabilities.
  • Track business opportunities and client relationships for analytics.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 7 years of related experience.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and/or internationally as required by specific duties and project demands.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Environmental Expertise: Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, chemical engineering, science or related discipline; Professional Engineering (PE) license, Licensed Professional Geologist, professional scientist certification, or Master’s degree; extensive understanding of environmental analytics. A degree in computer science or programming with environmental experience is also acceptable.
  • Programming Proficiency in languages such as Python or R.
  • Software Development Experience: Proven track record in developing software solutions, dashboards, and other analytics tools.
  • IP Management: Experience managing intellectual property and related processes.
  • Educational Interest: A passion for teaching and developing advancement opportunities for mid- and junior-level staff.
  • Ideally, 10 years of related experience.

  • Compensation: Pay Range $90,605 - $158,579 with discretionary bonuses.
