Position Overview

We are seeking a Wastewater Process Engineer to assist with projects related to municipal water and wastewater treatment plants, including but not limited to major treatment plant expansions, regional water quality studies, and critical water reuse projects that will create sustainable and resilient water supplies for the world. Key Responsibilities:

• Perform wastewater process modeling, designs, conceptual designs, facility layouts and prepare reports, plans, and specifications under the direction of principle engineers and technologists.
• Independently evaluate and apply engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgment in making adaptations and modifications.
• Evaluate and analyze various treatment technologies, investigations, surveys, structures, or equipment with both basic and complex features.
• Manage project engineering for wastewater treatment and collection systems.
• Test materials and processes.
• Prepare reports and technical memoranda.
• Conduct wastewater process modeling and studies.
• Perform research investigations and piloting.

Required Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum academic coursework in physical, chemical, and biological processes; hydraulics; and principles of water and wastewater treatment plant and infrastructure design.
• 0 to 4 years of directly-relevant experience in water and wastewater engineering.
• Engineer-in-Training Certification.
• Proven ability in applying engineering principles including critical thinking, analysis, and innovative techniques.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Highly motivated, articulate, and self-starting.
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated ability in biological, physical, and chemical process modeling, hydraulics, and principles of wastewater treatment plant design.
• Familiarity with codes and regulations related to water pollution control.
• 5-10 years of wastewater process and design experience in environmental engineering, with emphasis on hydraulics, physical, chemical, and biological treatment processes, and treatment plant design.

Benefits & Perks

• Salary: $75,000 to $95,000 annually
• Compensation: Other compensation may include 401(k) company contribution matching, tuition reimbursement, discretionary bonuses, career advancement bonuses, professional registration bonuses, employee referral bonuses, and compensatory time for exempt employees.
