Key Responsibilities
- Design CAD models, complex assemblies, and engineering drawings based on system requirements.
- Apply engineering principles to validate requirements, develop products, and integrate systems.
- Evaluate designs to ensure they meet customer satisfaction and adhere to engineering standards.
- Support cross-functional teams and foster productive working relationships with customer counterparts and key commercial partners.
- Utilize technical expertise to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and quality of engineering deliverables.
- Perform all other assigned duties as needed.
Required Qualifications
- BS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited institution with either five (5) years of related engineering experience or, at higher levels, ten (10) years of experience.
- Applied experience using modeling software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Mechanical design expertise including the creation of CAD models, complex assemblies, and engineering drawings.
- Proven experience working on cross-discipline engineering teams with excellent communication, integration, coordination, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with customers and stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of engineering practices for defining, designing, developing, testing, integrating, and validating complex systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint).
- Must be a U.S. Citizen, successfully pass a government background investigation, and comply with our drug-free workplace policy.
- Ability to work in a team environment, maintain professional conduct, adjust schedules for peak periods, and handle commuting or travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working experience with Human Space Exploration programs.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with requirement development, decomposition, documentation, and review processes.
- Project management or other leadership experience.
- Experience developing technical documentation.
- Working knowledge of Windchill and product lifecycle management software, such as JIRA or similar tools.
- Master of Science degree in Engineering.
