Job Description

Position Overview

Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, giving consumers the flexibility to buy now and pay later without any hidden fees or compounding interest. We are excited to welcome a new cohort of graduates with a computer science or related major who are ready to leverage their skills to drive real-world impact and shape the future of finance. In our hybrid early career program, you’ll be paired with a tenured Affirmer and have the opportunity to collaborate in-person 3 days a week out of our Location: New York City or San Francisco offices, with a Schedule: Hybrid work arrangement. Compensation: USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year: $130,000 - $170,000 and (all other U.S. states) per year: $115,000 - $155,000, as part of a total package including equity rewards and monthly stipends.

Key Responsibilities

  • With the support of your team, work on tasks that contribute to the team’s projects and goals.
  • Collaborate proactively with team members and stakeholders, creating visibility and discussion regarding the risks and trade-offs related to your work.
  • Strike a balance between speed and quality to meet business goals while protecting systems from downtime.
  • Engage in growth and development activities to contribute to a sense of community on your team.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven ability to transform a simple problem or business scenario into an effective solution interacting with multiple software components by writing clear, well-tested, and extensible code.
  • Comfortable navigating a large code base, debugging complex issues, and providing constructive feedback through code reviews.
  • Demonstrated ownership of your professional growth by proactively seeking feedback from your team, manager, and stakeholders.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to support effective collaboration with a global engineering team.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
