Job Description
Position Overview
We are seeking a Platform Infrastructure Coordinator (Engineering Technician) to support the design and implementation of Navy networks. In this role you will develop network topologies and templates based on system requirements, create IP address plans, and prepare detailed test plans and documentation. Candidates must have shipboard and/or installation experience, a strong understanding of shipboard network and power infrastructure, and the ability to read and interpret installation and design drawings. 30-40% travel will be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design and implementation of Navy networks.
- Develop network topologies, templates, and IP address plans.
- Prepare detailed test plans and technical documentation.
- Work with cable tables, interconnect diagrams, and shipboard installation processes including equipment mounting and cable pulling.
- Engage with stakeholders across Navy programs, the DoD, or other federal agencies in a client-facing capacity.
Required Qualifications
- Active Security Clearance is required (TS/SCI Preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience supporting the engineering of DoD Afloat Network systems (CANES, ADNS, ISNS, CENTRIXS, SCI Networks, SUBLAN, and/or COMPOSE).
- Shipboard experience including understanding shipboard cable tables, physical layouts, and network infrastructure aboard Navy vessels.
- Experience with hardware infrastructure installation (e.g., equipment mounting, cable pulling).
- Ability to read and interpret installation and design drawings.
- 3+ years of experience developing technical documentation.
- Proven track record in client-facing roles that require relationship building with stakeholders in Navy programs, the DoD, or other federal agencies.
- Experience with SDN/SD-WAN technologies and vendors such as VMware, NSX-T, Cisco, Juniper, and open-source solutions.
- Experience with network configuration for L2/L3 switches, routers, and security appliances (firewalls, NIDS, NIPS, etc.).
- Proven experience in developing and documenting network topologies.
- Experience in troubleshooting and restoring network and system outages.
- Experience in virtualization technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited university in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physical Science (preferred).
- Network+ and Security+ certifications (preferred).
