Job Description

Mechanical Engineer – Robotics

Location: Las Vegas, Nevada

Company: Early-stage humanoid robotics company

An early-stage company developing next-generation humanoid robotic systems is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to design and build high-performance robotic hardware.

This role will focus on developing high-reliability mechanical and mechatronic subsystems, taking designs from concept → CAD → prototype → test → production as part of a highly collaborative robotics engineering team.

The Role

You will be responsible for designing robotic mechanical systems and assemblies that form part of a complex humanoid platform.

Working closely with controls, electronics, and robotics software engineers, you will play a key role in developing hardware that is robust, manufacturable, and ready for real-world deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop robotic mechanical and mechatronic subsystems
  • Own hardware development from concept → CAD → prototype → testing → production
  • Design actuation systems, mechanisms, structural components, and assemblies
  • Perform mechanical modelling, analysis, and design optimisation
  • Build and evaluate hardware prototypes
  • Support system integration and hardware testing
  • Work closely with controls, electrical, and robotics software teams
  • Improve designs for reliability, manufacturability, and performance

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or similar
  • Experience designing robotic or electromechanical systems
  • Strong CAD skills (SolidWorks, Creo, or similar)
  • Experience taking hardware from concept through prototype and production
  • Experience designing robot mechanisms, actuators, linkages, or robotic assemblies
  • Experience working with mechatronic systems integrating motors, sensors, and electronics
  • Robotics industry experience (robotics, autonomous systems, industrial automation, or similar)

Nice to Have

  • Experience working on humanoid robots or articulated robotic systems
  • Experience designing actuation systems or drivetrain mechanisms
  • Experience in early-stage robotics or fast-paced hardware environments
  • Experience with rapid prototyping and hardware iteration

Why Join

  • Work on cutting-edge humanoid robotics
  • Join an early-stage company where you can shape the product
  • Opportunity to work across the full robotics hardware development lifecycle
  • Collaborate with a highly technical team building complex robotic systems
