Position Overview
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Remote Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to design, implement, and maintain robust security solutions for a global infrastructure. This fully remote position offers the flexibility to work from anywhere in the US, with close collaboration from the team near San Antonio, Texas. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in network security, threat mitigation, and secure system architecture, and will play a pivotal role in enhancing cybersecurity measures and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Location: Fully remote (US, near San Antonio, Texas)
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain robust security solutions including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and endpoint security.
- Develop and deploy security tools and technologies while conducting regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests.
- Design and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
- Respond to security incidents, perform forensic analysis, and lead incident response efforts.
- Architect secure cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and collaborate with development teams to integrate security into the software development lifecycle (DevSecOps).
- Research and recommend innovative security solutions while staying updated on the latest cybersecurity threats and trends.
- Utilize strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for efficient management of security infrastructure.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Experience Required: Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in cybersecurity engineering.
- Proven technical expertise in network security, threat mitigation, and secure system architecture.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience in designing and implementing security solutions, including conducting security assessments and leading incident responses.
Preferred Qualifications
- Qualifications: Master's degree or equivalent experience in cybersecurity or a related field.
- Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC, or CCIE Security.
