Job Description

Position Overview

Serves as the discipline leader for marketing and partners closely with other topline disciplines (Sales and Revenue Management) to develop overarching cross-cutting strategies. Responsible for creating a comprehensive marketing strategy that aligns with the hotel(s) goals and positioning. Develops and oversees implementation of marketing strategies designed to drive topline revenue and achieve RevPar/share-of-wallet goals. Manages all internal and external communication and owns digital presence, including but not limited to property website, third party channels and social media while maintaining brand integrity. Identifies incremental marketing opportunities ranging from partnerships, third-party cites and CVBs. Expertly articulates campaign performance regularly to General Manager(s), Sales and Revenue Management leaders and Hotel Ownership. May oversee Marketing Coordinator for execution of identified tactics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops an overarching marketing strategy from marketing plans to overall hotel marketing budgets, in consultation with General Manager(s) to align with business priorities.
  • Participates in recurring Sales Strategy Meetings to articulate the most up-to-date marketing strategy and implementation details.
  • Reconciles the marketing plan monthly with accruals and forecasts in conjunction with the Director of Finance.
  • Leads repositioning efforts in partnership with the Area Team, General Manager, and hotel executive team.
  • Serves as brand guardian and liaison, ensuring all marketing reflects the brand voice.
  • Partners with Hotel Operations to conceptualize and execute property-level programming and activation based on brand guidelines.
  • Leads or partners in the strategic pull-through of continent and brand promotions and campaigns.
  • Collaborates with Revenue Management to develop and execute promotional strategies.
  • Develops and manages property email marketing, digital strategy across M.Com and third-party sites, and paid media campaigns while monitoring performance.
  • Supports group lead generation efforts.
  • Reviews and analyzes key marketing reports, clearly articulating results to stakeholders and owners, and adjusts strategy accordingly.
  • Manages internal and external partners to ensure deliverables support hotel strategy.
  • Oversees the annual digital marketing plan and overarching partnership strategies to maximize hotel revenue production.
  • Manages the OTA strategy in collaboration with Revenue Management through monthly market leader reviews, media investments, and hotel positioning alignment.
  • Monitors SEO performance and implements updates in collaboration with Marriott Digital Services or agency.
  • Identifies digital marketing opportunities on third-party and local partner sites.
  • Sets the overarching messaging strategy for the hotel/group of hotels aligned with positioning.
  • Manages content for Marriott.com via EPIC, Efast, MDS Client Community; OTA content via respective extranet sites; and third-party as well as group sites via content management systems.
  • Oversees photography distribution including search photos, pre-arrival photos, and photo gallery management.
  • Creates landing and discovery pages to enhance content when applicable.
  • Manages guest communications such as confirmation and pre-arrival messaging.
  • Sets the overarching partnership strategy for the hotel or cluster of hotels.
  • Identifies and cultivates internal and external partnerships, including collaborations with Marriott Digital Services.
  • Manages cluster marketing strategies and maintains active engagement with Area Directors of Marketing to provide recommendations based on digital trends and best practices.
  • Defines the overarching PR strategy, including goals, pitch angles, and target segments, and manages PR messaging and agency (if applicable).
  • Oversees the execution of PR events and promotions.
  • Identifies outlet marketing opportunities on third-party and local partner sites.
  • Defines in-house F&B programming in partnership with the F&B Director and manages its execution.
  • Sets the overarching social media strategy for the hotel/group of hotels, including goals and target segments.
  • Develops and implements social media strategies and manages paid social media budgets.
  • Assists in reviewing social media content calendars and gathering local area and property event information.
  • Leads and directs asset development including hotel collateral, photoshoots (sourcing, planning, on-site execution, post-editing, and distribution).
  • Effectively measures and communicates campaign and digital performance results using relevant reporting tools.
  • Demonstrates strong relationship-building and negotiation skills with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manages the development and design of hotel collateral as needed.
  • Completes other reasonable duties as requested by leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related major; Experience Required: 3 years’ experience in Marketing or a comparable professional area.
  • Education: 4-year bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related major; Experience Required: 1 year experience in Marketing or a comparable professional area.
