Job Description

Position Overview

Location: Rapid City, SD USA
Schedule: 32 hours weekly
Salary: $24.75 - $28.45 per hour (Determined by the knowledge, skills, and experience of the applicant.)

UP TO $10,000 SIGN ON BONUS FOR QUALIFIED CANDIDATES. In ambulatory care facilities, the LPN plays a crucial role in providing direct and indirect patient care in collaboration with others. They administer nursing care to allocated patients with oversight from a physician or Registered Nurse (RN) and carry out delegated tasks to address patient needs effectively. The LPN provides nursing services following Monument Health's guidelines, professional standards, and in adherence to the South Dakota Nurse Practice Act, as well as other relevant federal, state, and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adheres to clinic standards when arranging the examination and treatment areas.
  • Adequately readies for patient care by engaging in pre-visit planning and setting up exam and treatment areas in adherence to clinic standards.
  • Executes patient rooming duties, such as measuring vital signs, gathering information, and meeting clinic-specific requirements.
  • Effectively administers medications and maintains accurate documentation in alignment with clinic policies.
  • Conducts nursing procedures and treatments within the Scope of Responsibilities, following the specific standards of the nursing department and clinic.
  • Completes assessments, carries out clinical interventions, assesses progress, and adapts the care plan in coordination with an RN or provider.
  • Disseminates pre-approved patient education handouts and reinforces the health education and discharge instructions delivered by the RN or provider.
  • Conducts autonomous nurse meetings as permitted within the scope of practice and department policies under suitable supervision.
  • Manages the inbox by arranging emails efficiently and executing patient referrals and prior authorizations following appropriate protocols.
  • Participates in the training and support of clinical team members in accordance with their roles.
  • Plays an active role in department advancement through involvement in meetings, committees, and ongoing training.
  • Ensures that patient records contain clear and precise documentation as outlined in the Scope of Responsibilities.
  • Performs additional duties that fall outside the standard responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – South Dakota Board of Nursing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience Required: 1+ years of Healthcare Experience
