Position Overview
The Information Security Analyst 1 – Digital Technology Solutions supports the University of Cincinnati's mission by assisting in performing procedures and providing technical solutions that ensure appropriate access while protecting systems from unauthorized users. Key Responsibilities
- Participate in peer knowledge sharing groups.
- Communicate security concepts effectively with guidance.
- Assist with the development of technical documentation including designs, specifications, processes, and workflows.
- Document individual progress on assigned deliverables.
- Participate in gathering metrics for the area of responsibility.
- Carry out procedures to support departmental and university operations in the information security area.
- Maintain familiarity with current information security trends and best practices.
- Participate in internal information security projects and initiatives.
- Assist in preparing and maintaining functional documentation for assigned tasks.
- Support the research, design, implementation, and maintenance of systems for security tools and services.
- Help develop, maintain, and utilize standard operating procedures.
- Participate in risk and vulnerability assessments to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and protection needs.
- Aid in troubleshooting processes during and outside of normal business hours.
- Assist in mentoring non-security teams regarding risk management, controls, incident analysis and response, and other operational tasks.
- Support information security training and awareness programs.
- Perform related duties as required by departmental needs.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Two (2) years of relevant work experience and/or specialized training may be used in lieu of the education requirement.
- Experience Required: Possess working knowledge of commonly-used information security concepts, practices, and procedures, and support established processes, methods, and systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in information security operations including endpoint security, full-disk encryption, multi-factor authentication, security incident and event management (SIEM), SSL and client certificate management, vulnerability management, privileged access management, and password management. Familiarity with system/application administration for security technologies and effective departmental customer service is desired. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GISP, GSEC, or SEC+ are ideal.
