Position Overview

Technology sales at IBM is evolving its way of working to break beyond boundaries with innovative approaches. As aPlatform Engineerwithin IBM Client Engineering, you will be a key player in a multi-disciplinary team – including Architects, AI Engineers, Designers, and Business Technology Leaders – co-creating client solutions. Your mission is to help clients leverage our technology to overcome their toughest business challenges while actively contributing to experiential working sessions and builds. Key Responsibilities

• Cloud Expertise:Leverage contemporary hybrid cloud skills (e.g., AI, analytics, DevOps, DevSecOps, IaC, security, networking, and storage) with deep industry understanding of your dedicated clients’ businesses.
• Value Communication:Define and communicate the differentiated value of IBM's technology both technically and commercially.
• Technical Leadership:Lead client sessions covering a broad range of public and hybrid cloud technologies, including Red Hat OpenShift, IBM Cloud Paks, and Kubernetes.
• Solution Support:Support the solutions architecture plan by being a hands-on "builder" in client-facing engagements and advising on best practices for a smooth deployment transition.
• Transition to Deployment:Collaborate with deployment teams to ensure a seamless handover of production deployment assets and information.

• Technical Education:B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent technical degree/experience.
• Programming:Working knowledge in at least one cloud-native programming language (Java, Python, HCL, Rust, Ansible, or similar).
• Tech Savvy:Conversant about cloud technology, the latest industry trends, and their application to business challenges.
• Team Player:Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively and navigate diverse communication styles.
• Excellent Communication Skills:Engaging, compelling, and influential verbal, written, and interpersonal abilities.
• Self-Starter:Motivated to work with clients and independently lead projects.

Preferred Qualifications

• Preferred Education:Bachelor's Degree.
• Experience in deploying and operating solutions on AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, or Google Cloud.
• Relevant technical certifications (e.g., CNCF, AWS, IBM Cloud, Azure, Google Cloud, DevOps).

• This position requires working from one of the following IBM offices: Chicago, IL; New York, NY; Raleigh, NC; San Francisco, CA; and Washington, DC.
• Travel:Readiness to travel up to 50% annually.
