Position Overview

GD Energy Products – New Name, Same Legacy. For over 160 years, we have led the industry with unmatched products and services. The selected intern will learn about the essential functions of Supply Chain and Logistics while working on various projects with the Leadership Team. This is a tremendous opportunity to gain valuable real-world work experience in a fast-paced, dynamic atmosphere, with exposure to all aspects of the Supply Chain including vendor selection, materials planning, inventory control, and distribution.

Key Responsibilities

• Commodities: Identifies, develops, and grows global and regional suppliers; tracks total spend and savings generated globally and regionally; and finds methods for cost reductions.
• Procurement: Establishes, distributes, and maintains the preferred supplier list; manages and directs procurement and planning activities; and provides timely and relevant market and benchmark data to support sourcing decisions.
• Logistics: Coordinates domestic and international contracts related to transportation and logistics providers; ensures logistics meet production schedules and material costs remain within forecast limits.

Required Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in business, management, or engineering.
• Ability to efficiently identify and resolve problems.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to develop excellent working relationships with vendors, customers, and staff at all levels of the organization.
