Position Overview
Desktop Support Technician, MacOS, Windows
Contract to Hire
Compensation: $35/hr. W2 during the contract period
On-site 5 days per week, Baltimore, MD
Hours:
8 am-5 pmALTA IT Services is staffing a contract-to-hire position for a Desktop Support Technician on behalf of a respected scientific institute in downtown Baltimore, MD.

Key Responsibilities
- Configure and deploy computers using tools such as Jamf Pro, MECM, and Ansible.
- Provide technical support to staff and partners in-person, over the telephone, and through collaboration tools.
- Install, configure, troubleshoot, and repair computers, peripherals, printers, VOIP phones, software, and other equipment.
- Assist with office moves for new and existing employees.
- Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting of A/V equipment and conference rooms, including resolving technical problems and assisting with connections.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of work experience in a related field.
- Strong technical skills, including knowledge of hardware, software, and operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in an interrupt-driven environment.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift/move computer equipment up to 40 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Apple Certified Macintosh Technician Certification
