Job Description
Position Overview

In this role, you will perform general analysis, prepare reports, conduct modeling, forecasting, trending, and variance analysis, and provide key financial and operational insights to support our business operations. Note: This is a hybrid position with in‐office (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) and remote flexibility. Candidates must reside in IL, PA, NJ, DE, MD, or Washington DC.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and contribute to the development of short-term and long-range business planning through modeling, forecasting, trending, variance analysis, and business case development.
- Provide statistical information to optimize the utilization of personnel, equipment, and materials.
- Monitor and coordinate activities supporting operational performance management (e.g., safety, reliability, service level, productivity).
- Track, maintain, and analyze the operation's business scorecard and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Perform cost element analysis to ensure efficient operations.
- Prepare and analyze detailed standard and non-standard reports.
- Develop, organize, and present performance reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide analytical and operational support to the business unit.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering with 2–4 years of related business experience, or a minimum of 3–6 years relevant business experience in lieu of a degree.
- Understanding of applicable standards, methods, processes, business fundamentals, and performance metrics in areas such as asset management, electric/gas operations, customer service, transmission, distribution, and regulatory affairs.
- Proficiency in standard software applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project) and specialized business technologies (e.g., workforce management, project management tools, SAP planning, Business Objects) to retrieve and analyze data.
- Ability to perform general analysis, apply managerial accounting concepts, utilize forecasting, staff planning, scheduling, and statistical problem solving; and effectively present business cases to leadership.
- Customer-driven with strong oral and written communication, analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Knowledge of performance analysis practices, including trending, root cause and gap analysis, benchmarking, and audit compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Finance/Accounting degree.
- Experience with Workiva applications.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
