Lead Data Center (Mechanical) Operations Engineer - New Albany, Ohio

We are seeking a Lead Mechanical Operations Engineer for our New Albany, Ohio Campus. In this role, you will support and lead the local data center site team on advanced mechanical engineering duties within the Chicago datacenter campus. Reporting to the Site Chief Engineer, you will be onsite daily with limited domestic travel (approximately 10%). This role offers ample opportunity for growth into management.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide oversight of critical infrastructure and building mechanical systems.
• Operate critical systems including CRAH's, CRAC's, Chillers, Humidification/De-humidification Systems, RTU's, CDU's, and Water Purification Systems.
• Identify issues and lead root cause analysis (RCA) and remediation processes.
• Coordinate maintenance, corrective activities, and customer requests.
• Perform system analysis, reporting, and self-performing PM/CM activities per ECX standards.
• Develop and execute Methods of Procedure (MOP's) and supervise on-site subcontractors.
• Support the regional team with customer reporting and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).
• Ensure timely and accurate updates to tickets, work orders, and communications.

Required Qualifications

• Detailed knowledge of critical infrastructure including CRAH's, CRAC's, Chillers, Humidification/De-humidification Systems, RTU's, CDU's, and Water Purification Systems.
• Ability to read and assess single line diagrams, technical manuals, and engineering plans.
• Extensive experience with MOP/EOP/SOP execution and process adherence.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective coordination with local and regional teams.
• Commitment to excellence with a proactive approach to process improvement and quality deliverables.
• Over 5+ years of experience managing data center mechanical infrastructure.
• Over 3+ years of experience leading a team of service technicians, acting as an escalation point and mentor.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the pre-deployment phases of a data center, including pre-construction or construction environments.
• Direct experience in leading mechanical engineering efforts at a hyperscale data center facility.
• A strong passion for data center technology and commitment to continuous learning.
