Position Overview

A leading global law firm with a top-tier funds/investments practice is seeking a Director of Marketing & Business Development to support the growth and positioning of its private investment fund services. The firm advises many of the world’s most prominent private equity sponsors, asset managers, and institutional investors on fund formation, regulatory matters, and ongoing operations. Known for its market leadership, high-volume deal flow, and deep industry relationships, this role offers a dynamic platform for a senior marketing and business development professional to drive strategic initiatives, enhance client engagement, and support the continued expansion of a marquee practice within the alternative assets space.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of marketing and business development strategies for a globally recognized Funds/Investments practice, focusing on driving growth, expanding client relationships, and increasing market visibility.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of private investment fund structures, industry trends, and key developments within the asset management space.
  • Apply knowledge of emerging AI tools — including generative AI, predictive analytics, and automation — to enhance marketing effectiveness and strengthen client engagement strategies.
  • Serve as a project liaison between the Client Relations team and the broader Marketing & Business Development department to advance new business initiatives.
  • Contribute to strategic planning efforts by aligning marketing deliverables with firm-wide goals and practice-specific growth targets.
  • Conduct research and analysis on companies, markets, and competitors to surface actionable business development opportunities.
  • Create high-quality marketing materials, pitch decks, and client-facing collateral that reflect the brand and value proposition of the practice.
  • Collaborate with peers across practice groups, industry teams, and administrative departments to ensure integrated marketing support.
  • Lead the planning and execution of practice-specific events, conference sponsorships, and thought leadership campaigns.
  • Identify strategic opportunities for external visibility through rankings, directories, and targeted profile-raising efforts.
  • Serve as a senior member of a high-performing global team, balancing hands-on execution with strategic leadership and cross-functional coordination.
  • Lead and mentor a team of direct reports, fostering a collaborative and agile working environment across time zones.

Required Qualifications

  • 15+ years of professional experience with a background in investment management, financial services, or private equity.
  • Strong technical proficiency and familiarity with market intelligence and research platforms such as Salesforce CRM and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.

Compensation:Salary is competitive, depending on experience.
