Summary: The Electrical Engineer I role is an entry level position performing routine engineering functions on assigned projects or sub-projects by applying standard mathematical, physical science, and engineering technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Assists in the design and/or project/process management of new and current projects, products, programs, components, tools, and acceptance equipment under the technical guidance of higher-level engineers.
- Assists in the preparation of product or project definitions, manufacturing drawings and specifications, operating procedures, and test equipment designs.
- Assists in developing electrical and/or environmental test procedures, performing engineering evaluation tests, capability studies, quality audits, and product or project data reviews.
- Defines and acquires tooling, cables, and other equipment necessary to manufacture or inspect parts to assure product quality.
- Interacts with design agencies, suppliers, or internal organizations to resolve design, development, production, and acceptance issues.
- Evaluates and recommends technological advancements to improve productivity, quality, reduce flowtime, and enhance operational surety.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited university in Engineering or Physics
- Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
- Flexibility to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management based on business needs
- United States Citizenship
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance, if required
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous relevant internship experience or equivalent preferred
- Demonstrated analytical skills with mathematical computations and computer software applications
- Experience applying established technical methodologies to routine engineering projects
