Junior Interactive Technologist

Position Overview

Zero is a creative studio founded in NYC that creates an environment where multidisciplinary teams solve problems for progressive and contemporary brands. We continually re-evaluate what it’s like to work with a studio and deliver a high degree of value to our clients and team.

As a Junior Interactive Technologist, you will immerse yourself in coding and debugging tasks while working closely with the team to implement web solutions for our clients. You will gain hands-on experience, contribute to projects, and refine your skills through mentorship in a dynamic development environment. Your role is pivotal in prototyping, front-end development, content management integration, and QA. We expect you to bring a positive, solutions-oriented mindset along with kindness, respect, and empathy.

Key Responsibilities

• Approach every project with a clear purpose and ensure all executions meet business and user goals (performance, conversion, overall quality).
• Take a detail-oriented approach with project planning and development.
• Collaborate with the design team to finesse the interaction model of the site.
• Consider accessibility and SEO best practices when developing templates.
• Address technical challenges with an open mind and explore new possibilities.
• Work with small-to-medium, multi-disciplinary teams toward executing on-brief strategic goals.
• Keep projects organized, communicate effectively, avoid assumptions, and forecast risks to exceed both design and client expectations.
• Demonstrate intrinsic motivation, valuing process and collaboration throughout your work.

Required Qualifications

• Proficient knowledge of Front-End core languages (HTML, CSS, ES6+ JavaScript).
• Experience with Svelte/SvelteKit or similar frameworks (NextJs, Nuxt).
• Familiarity with cloud hosting platforms such as Vercel.
• Understanding of working with and developing APIs (GraphQL, REST).
• Familiarity with SCSS/Tailwind.
• 1-3 years of experience building web projects.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ecommerce (Shopify) and Agency experience are preferred.
