Position Overview
As the Audio-Visual Installation Technician, you are the cornerstone of on-site technology projects for our clients. In this role you perform a wide variety of installation duties—from mounting displays, projectors, speakers, and microphones to coordinating with project management and field teams. You will interpret drawing packages and build systems that bring design visions to life. Opportunities for Remote coordination are available, ensuring flexibility and a dynamic work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform physical installation of diverse technology equipment in various locations.
- Execute cabling terminations for wire and connector types and verify that crew terminations meet established standards.
- Prepare equipment racks for staging, including installation of power strips, grounding bars, and jack-fields.
- Read and interpret functional design drawings and cable riser diagrams.
- Mount base build equipment such as monitor mounts, ceiling speakers, microphones, and projectors.
- Maintain consistent technical performance with flexibility in work scheduling; periodic overtime and weekend work may be required to meet client deadlines.
- Complete assignments within or ahead of established task durations while providing daily feedback to supervisors.
- Construct and wire custom panels from engineering drawings.
- Handle advanced fiber optic cable installation, termination, repair, and testing.
- Generate cable labels and manage wire listing activities in accordance with standards.
- Track and maintain toolkits, company vehicles, and inventory of installation materials; ensure cleanliness and accurate documentation.
- Check in drop shipped items and manage on-site material deliveries in coordination with project management.
- Maintain personal licenses, certifications, and qualifications as required by state regulations.
- Record daily time worked on projects for timesheet entry and provide detailed information logs to management.
- Occasionally climb ladders, use stairs, and lift/move materials up to 40 pounds in construction settings.
- Meet specific vision requirements including close, distance, peripheral, and depth vision.
- Travel frequently by car and occasionally by airplane. Possession of a valid driver’s license is mandatory.
