Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Inside Sales Representative to drive and manage sales of Element AVITI instruments, consumables, and services within the Southwest territory. This role, reporting to the Senior Manager, Inside Sales, is an on‐site position based in San Diego.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet and/or surpass sales targets for instrument sales, sequencing consumables, and related services at both new capital purchases and throughout the instrument’s lifetime.
- Manage the customer sales process through phone, e-mail, web/remote conferencing, and limited on-site visits to promote and develop Element business.
- Collaborate with commercial teams to prospect and qualify sales leads from diverse sources and route qualified opportunities via Salesforce.
- Achieve or exceed all assigned sales and lead targets.
- Effectively manage inbound/outbound communications, including lead qualification from events, marketing campaigns, and prospect lists; coordinate with internal teams to address customer queries and objections while identifying upsell/cross-sell opportunities.
- Establish and maintain strong, positive, and productive relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Maintain the Salesforce CRM database for accurate lead qualification, funnel management, and forecasting in a timely manner.
- Achieve daily customer phone contact objectives to deliver sales presentations that address research needs and expand sales opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or a related field. (Advanced Degrees are a plus)
- 1-3 years of Life Sciences industry experience including cold calling, CRM usage, or sequencing laboratory work.
- Experience in strategic selling/Professional Selling Skills (PSS) with a proven track record in prospecting, lead qualification, funnel management, closing deals, and ongoing account management.
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with customers, peers, and management.
- Ability to mentor junior Inside Sales Representative colleagues.
- Physical requirement: Frequently moves boxes weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Location requirement: Based in San Diego – onsite; Domestic travel up to 10%.
