As an Engineering Aide, you will support professional engineering and technical personnel by preparing reports, coordinating meetings, tracking project budgets, and performing specialized tasks based on your workgroup assignment.
Key Responsibilities

- Facilities Engineering: Conduct field investigations and measurements, research construction products and materials, develop schematic designs using AutoCAD, and coordinate workspace improvements with District trades and contractors.
- Major Facilities/Water Distribution Planning: Perform hydraulic modeling, review and respond to CEQA documents, and recommend pipeline replacement sizing.
- Pipeline Rebuild: Evaluate distribution system leaks, support project initiation via the District’s Infrastructure Project Tracker, assist with pipeline replacement project design, and update the Pipeline Replacement Risk model.
- Water Supply Improvements: Assist in planning and implementing recycled water projects, support customer site conversions through plan reviews and inspections, compile water usage data, and help with recycled water pipeline and pump station design.
- Electrical/Industrial Control Systems: Assist in the electrical design of pumping plants, reservoirs, and water treatment plants, perform electrical calculations and analyses, prepare engineering drawings and cost benefit analyses, and develop and test control system applications.
