We are seeking a skilled and motivated Port Crane Technician (levels 1, 2, 3, or 4) to join our team. In this hands-on, high-impact role, you will maintain, repair, and safely operate ship-to-shore container cranes and rubber-tired gantry (RTG) cranes that support our 24/7 port operations. This is an opportunity to work with cutting-edge industrial technology and some of the largest, most sophisticated equipment in the maritime industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate and support port container cranes during vessel berthing, setup, testing, and maintenance activities, ensuring adherence to all safety and operational procedures.
- Perform electrical maintenance and repair on ship-to-shore and RTG cranes, including inspection, testing, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and replacement of complex electrical, electronic, PLC, drive, and communication systems using manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
- Conduct mechanical, hydraulic, and facility maintenance, including inspection, repair, and replacement of crane structures, gearboxes, wire ropes, engines, hydraulic systems, and related equipment; assist and monitor contractors, support maintenance facilities, and respond to emergency assignments.
Required Qualifications
- One year of experience or training in the installation, maintenance, or repair of hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and/or electronic systems in either a commercial or industrial setting; OR one year of experience or training in the maintenance or repair of computer-driven heavy equipment.
- NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: New employees must be able to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC).
