Position Overview

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Procurement Specialist with expertise in sourcing raw materials to join their team in Nashville, Tennessee, US. This hybrid role is critical to ensuring a consistent and cost-effective supply of high-quality raw materials for manufacturing operations. The candidate will be responsible for supplier identification, contract negotiation, relationship management, and process optimization while collaborating with internal stakeholders to drive operational efficiency and value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and procure raw materials, components, and supplies essential for manufacturing operations.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify competitive pricing and supply chain trends.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and ensure quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key suppliers.
  • Manage supplier performance through regular reviews and prompt issue resolution.
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials by coordinating with logistics and production teams.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize inventory levels and reduce lead times.
  • Monitor and analyze procurement data to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including R&D, production, and finance, to understand material needs and specifications.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management with a focus on raw materials.
  • Proven experience in contract negotiation and supplier relationship management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an excellent understanding of procurement processes and best practices.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
