Job Description
Position Overview

The Lead Medical Assistant is the first point of contact for patient care and is responsible for both clinical and administrative duties. In this role, you will assume ownership of advanced administrative and operational tasks while ensuring quality patient care and seamless coordination with physicians and advanced practice providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform clinical duties such as discussing symptoms, obtaining vital signs, administering medications/vaccines, conducting phlebotomy, collecting specimens, and performing diagnostic screening tests.
- Sterilize and clean equipment, maintain examination rooms, and document patient information in the electronic medical records system.
- Lead administrative tasks including coordinating daily work priorities and monitoring progress towards schedules and goals.
- Oversee work processes and provide advanced guidance and mentoring to fellow Medical Assistants.
- Collaborate closely with Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers to ensure seamless patient care.
Required Qualifications
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant
- Phlebotomy experience
- Medication/vaccine administration experience
- 3+ years of Medical Assistant experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CPR Certified
- Must pass a TB screening as part of the company's Tuberculosis screening program
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in a PCO center
- Value Based Care experience including knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (must pass a proficiency exam)
