Job Description

Position Overview

As an entry-level Mechanical Engineer at Black & Veatch, a 100% employee-owned company, you will play a meaningful role in addressing critical infrastructure challenges. You will contribute to diverse, impactful projects supporting Conventional, Nuclear, and Thermal Performance sections. Potential office locations include Kansas City, Ann Arbor, and Raleigh.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop familiarity with departmental design guides, standards, systems, engineering codes, and Black & Veatch policies.
  • Comply with the Black & Veatch quality program and support continuous improvement and change management efforts.
  • Contribute to the preparation of engineering deliverables, perform routine research, manage engineering data, and prepare basic calculations.
  • Coordinate project tasks by sharing information and working with project leadership as directed.
  • Share current knowledge on the latest technology and processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
  • Ability to complete pre-employment requirements including background checks, drug screens, and motor vehicle record reviews.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred Non-Technical Skills: Learning on the Fly, Problem Solving, Intellectual Horsepower, Written Communications, Drive For Results, Informing, Listening, and Dealing with Ambiguity.
  • Preferred Technical Skills: Basic understanding of engineering design principles, familiarity with industry trends, company quality program, and construction practices.

  • Compensation: $76,950.00 - $90,229.65
