Job Description
Position Overview
We are an MSP based in NYC and London with clients all over the USA, currently looking for a Desktop and Remote Support Engineer to support our growing business. This split role involves spending 3-4 days a week onsite in Manhattan (and occasionally in surrounding areas) assisting customers directly, and the remainder remotely handling helpdesk and IT support issues – including Office 365, Servers/Active Directory, and other aspects of our technology stack. You will also have the opportunity to learn about networking, cyber security practices, servers, and cloud services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance with computer hardware, software, networking, and other IT equipment.
- Resolve issues for clients via phone, in person, or electronically.
- Recommend hardware and software improvements.
- Track customer issues and resolutions.
- Self-manage time, responsibilities, and workload.
- Keep accurate tickets and notes up to date in our ticketing system.
- Exercise autonomy to ensure that tasks are successfully completed.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in IT, customer service, or related fields.
- Ability to build rapport with clients.
- Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
- Positive and professional demeanor with a problem-solving mentality.
- Understanding of basic networking, including TCP/IP, VLAN, firewalls, and switches.
- Must be able to pass a background check for roles within finance, schools, and other institutions.
