Position Overview

Established in 1984, Equitas Health is a regional not-for-profit community-based healthcare system serving over 67,000 individuals annually through diverse healthcare and social service initiatives. Focused on primary and specialized medical care, retail pharmacy, dental, behavioral health, HIV/STI prevention, advocacy, and community health initiatives, the organization is among the nation’s largest LGBTQ+ healthcare providers.

The HR Shared Services Manager leads HR operations including benefits administration, credentialing compliance, HRIS management, process improvement, payroll preparation, and timecard oversight. This role ensures timely, accurate, and compliant HR support across the employee lifecycle while supervising direct reports and driving organizational efficiency.

Salary: $84,500-$105,600

Schedule: Hybrid Work Schedule, three days per week in person at our Schrock Road office in Columbus, Ohio, and two days per week remote

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities: Team & Operational Leadership – Supervise and support three direct reports (HR Operations Supervisor, Benefits & Compensation Specialist, and Credentialing Manager), establish performance goals, provide coaching, and ensure compliance with service standards.
  • Responsibilities: HR Systems & Data Governance – Oversee the accuracy and consistency of employee data in HRIS (UKG), implement quality controls, and support payroll and reporting functions.
  • Responsibilities: Credentialing Oversight – Manage credentialing operations to ensure timely onboarding, recredentialing, and compliance with applicable standards.
  • Responsibilities: Benefits & Compensation Administration – Oversee benefit operations including open enrollment, life event processing, and salary changes in line with compensation structures and regulatory requirements.
  • Responsibilities: Payroll Preparation & Timekeeping Oversight – Validate timecard approvals and coordinate payroll inputs to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Responsibilities: Service Delivery Excellence – Manage the HR ticketing system and workflow to resolve employee and manager requests within SLA targets while continuously improving service operations.
  • Responsibilities: Compliance & Reporting – Ensure adherence to HR-related regulations and prepare workforce reports and dashboards for HR leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field required
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years of leadership experience in an HR shared services environment
  • Experience with HRIS platforms (UKG preferred) and a solid understanding of payroll preparation principles and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands
  • Proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in sensitive situations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education: Master's degree preferred
  • Direct experience in HR operations, benefits administration, credentialing, or payroll support is strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with credentialing standards, payer requirements, and clinical provider onboarding processes
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and hands-on experience with relevant HR technology systems
