Position Overview
Join Zillow Home Loans as a Mortgage Loan Officer based in California (CA). In this dynamic role at a fast-growing FinTech company, you will originate mortgage loans, guide borrowers throughout the process, and drive production sales targets through proactive customer and agent engagement – all while delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Originate mortgage loans and guide borrowers through the process, ensuring compliance, and providing critical documentation for underwriting, processing, and funding.
- Achieve production targets by engaging actively with customers and agents, using data-driven strategies to manage your book of business.
- Handle incoming leads from various sources and generate self-sourced leads through strong partner relationships.
- Promptly contact borrowers, perform timely follow-up, and provide personalized support via phone, email, and text.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with assigned buyers, agents, and partners to encourage repeat business.
- Stay informed about market trends, conduct in-market visits, and drive local involvement.
- Ensure all transactions adhere to applicable laws, regulations, and company guidelines.
- Maintain active licensing, complete required education and training, and stay current on regulatory changes.
- Acknowledge and consent to the collection, storage, and use of your voiceprints as part of the role.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of mortgage origination experience as an active NMLS Loan Originator with multiple state licenses or working under a bank license.
- Physically located in, and working from, California (CA) with the ability to obtain and maintain a Mortgage Loan Originator license in any U.S. state.
- Successfully completed the 20-hour SAFE Pre-licensing Education and passed the SAFE Mortgage Loan Originator Test – National Component with Uniform State Content.
- Proven track record in handling purchase loans and collaborating with real estate agents.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with deep mortgage process knowledge.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Associates or Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Ability to travel, including in-market visits (at least 5% travel required, with training travel during the first month).
