Senior Mechanical Power Engineer

Position Overview

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer on our national Power Generation team, you will lead mechanical design and project management for natural gas and renewable energy projects, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver impactful solutions within the power market.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical engineering team and coordinate with other disciplines to deliver power generation projects.
• Develop construction drawings, bid specifications, equipment sizing calculations, and cost estimates.
• Provide technical and contractual support as Engineer of Record or Owner’s Engineer.
• Ensure projects meet industry standards, schedules, and budgets.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to drive project success and innovation.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• A minimum of 10 years of experience
• Professional Engineers (PE or P.Eng) license
• Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector
• Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office and design software (e.g., PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, Revit)
• A strong commitment to being an active participant in our employee-owned culture

Preferred Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
• Minimum 15 years of experience in power generation design
• Experience with gas turbines, steam turbines and/or large reciprocating engines
• Design experience with simple cycle and combined cycle power generation
• Experience with an engineering power consulting or EPC firm
• Proven ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments
• Excellent communication and analytical skills
• Willingness to mentor less experienced engineers and EITs
• Proven track record of working within established schedules and budgets
• Position includes an expectation of less than 10% travel for client and vendor meetings as well as project site visits

• Compensation: Based on skills, experience, education, and geographical location. Targeted salary range: $108,661 - $204,250
