Key Responsibilities

  • With minimum direction, develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
  • Performs analysis and work force utilization planning, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
  • May confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
  • Supports management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
  • Designs tooling, fixtures, product/part, machines.
  • Develops and recommends plans for productivity and efficiency improvements and performs manufacturing cost estimating and feasibility studies.
  • Assists in establishing advanced quality engineering standards and procedures and submits as required by customer needs.
  • Has responsibility and authority to prevent all Environmental and Safety nonconformities and stop any nonconforming operations until corrective action has been completed.

Required Qualifications

  • Four-year engineering degree with a minimum of 4 years related experience in metal fabrication, machining and forming.
  • Specialized training in computer skills, time management and cohesive team building.
  • Working knowledge of J.I.T. manufacturing, cellurized manufacturing, FMEA, process flow diagram, ANSI Y-14.5, Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing, tube bending and brazing.
  • High mechanical aptitude and problem solving.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Entry level engineer position - willing to train the right applicant.
