Entry Level Construction Inspectors (TRAINEE POSITION)

Position Overview

Tectonic is seeking full-time Entry Level Construction Inspectors to work on projects throughout the NYC metro area! This is an exciting opportunity for entry into the construction industry with on-the-job training and opportunities for professional growth and development.

Key Responsibilities

• Travel daily to various project sites.
• Monitor construction operations and ensure compliance with project plans and specifications.
• Utilize field-testing procedures and equipment to conduct building inspections and testing.
• Observe and report on environmentally sustainable construction practices and green building standards.
• Prepare Daily Field Reports and communicate any deficiencies to project managers, contractors, or client representatives.
• Interpret project-related drawings and documents.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; outdoor labor, construction knowledge, or relevant BOCES training preferred.
• Ability to complete required OSHA trainings within a reasonable period of time.
• Strong communication skills to interact with supervisors, clients, contractors, and inspectors.
• Capability to record project data and complete required field inspection reports and documentation.
• Proficiency in reviewing and understanding industry standards, plans, and specifications to recognize deficiencies.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for regular daily travel to project sites.
