As an Electrical Engineer, you will utilize computer-aided software to review, modify, and design electrical systems while validating and improving the performance of electromechanical equipment and components. Working under the direction of the Vice President and alongside mechanical, structural, and control systems engineers, you will play a key role in expanding our capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and evaluate electromechanical systems by applying principles of mechanics, electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and other power systems
  • Develop and review control systems by studying customer requirements, researching manufacturing and assembly methods, and gathering operator feedback
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers and staff to identify, define, and resolve design or performance issues
  • Create test procedures and provide technical assistance during equipment assembly and commissioning
  • Execute technical assignments with an emphasis on integrating systems while adhering to schedule and cost considerations
  • Perform root cause analysis for failure investigations and conduct other data analysis tasks
  • Prepare periodic reports and presentations for customers on project-specific updates
  • Conduct continuous electrical progress inspections and complete installation checkouts to ensure quality, code compliance, and adherence to specifications
  • Support technical coordination of lock-out/tag-out program activities
  • Coordinate with Mechanical Engineers and craft workers to address drawing issues and provide necessary wiring or installation information
  • Manage procurement needs for electrical panel and system fabrication and assembly
  • Provide technical information by addressing questions and requests
  • Maintain product and company reputation by complying with government regulations
  • Create and review Operations & Maintenance manuals for designed equipment
  • Offer tracking and reporting to support the planning, development, and mentoring of project teams in implementing recovery plans as needed
  • Develop and maintain constructive and cooperative interpersonal relationships with colleagues
  • Produce manufacturability drawings using standard drafting practices within your designated area
  • Diagnose problems, order necessary parts, and design solutions to resolve project complications
  • Maintain a clean driving record and be prepared to drive a company vehicle if required
  • Be willing to travel for short durations to manage project assignments
  • Study and implement relevant industry standard requirements (e.g., ISO9001, AS9100, NCCCO, OSHA, ANSI, ASME, CMAA, AWS, IBC, ASCE) to ensure industry-accepted designs and equipment

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
  • Qualifications: Professional Engineering license in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience Required: 3-5 years experience working in industrial automation
  • Strong background in mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Strong AutoCAD skills, with experience using Autodesk Inventor preferred
  • Strong programming skills
  • Ability to work autonomously without direct oversight when necessary
  • Solid understanding of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications
  • Must have or be able to acquire a US Passport with no travel restrictions
