Job Description
Position Overview
We are seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Technician to support field operations for water and wastewater construction projects in Oklahoma City, OK. This role involves systems programming and maintenance of automated control systems using Allen-Bradley PLC technology. The technician will work on programming with Studio 5000, RX Logic 5000/500 for PLCs, and FactoryTalk View for HMIs, troubleshooting issues and commissioning systems while traveling throughout Oklahoma and Arkansas.
Key Responsibilities
- Create automated systems that control equipment used in water handling and water treatment processes.
- Program PLCs and HMIs to monitor and control industrial processes.
- Provide field programming services for control systems.
- Install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation and control systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical rotating equipment on active construction sites.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure system functionality.
- Travel throughout Oklahoma and Arkansas to customer sites for installation, startup, and support.
- Maintain accurate documentation of service activities and system configurations.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in instrumentation, electrical systems, and Allen-Bradley PLC programming.
- Experience with automation and HMI programming.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex systems and resolve issues.
- Software expertise in Allen-Bradley, Studio 5000, RX Logic 5000/500, and FactoryTalk View.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical rotating equipment.
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Ability to work independently on construction sites.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in instrumentation, controls, or automation.
- Expertise in Allen-Bradley PLC programming using Studio 5000 and RX Logic 5000/500.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in water/wastewater, oil & gas, HVAC, or electrical contracting.

- Compensation: $80,000/yr.
