Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Controls Technician to join our team in New Orleans, LA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting building automation systems (BAS) and HVAC controls – a role crucial for ensuring optimal system performance and energy efficiency in our facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and verify HVAC and BAS control systems (including programming and commissioning).
- Perform routine maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing of HVAC and building automation systems.
- Utilize PLC programming and HMI interfaces for system diagnostics and controls.
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians to optimize system performance and energy efficiency.
- Provide technical support and training to end users on system operation and maintenance.
- Integrate control systems with building automation systems for comprehensive control solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Controls Technician or a similar role in HVAC systems.
- Strong knowledge of building automation systems (BAS) and HVAC controls.
- Experience with PLC programming/troubleshooting, HMI design, and system commissioning.
- Familiarity with Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) systems and their controls.
- Understanding of pneumatic and electrical/electronic controls.
- Excellent troubleshooting, calibration, and problem-solving skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications in HVAC or controls technology are preferred.
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa.
