Job Description

Position Overview

We are excited to launch a new position, District Human Resources Manager at Penske Truck Leasing Co., L.P., supporting district field teams and collaborating with leadership to implement human capital strategy. Reporting directly to the District Manager, with a dotted line to the Area Human Resources Manager, you will play a key role in engaging associates across 8 locations in Miami, Pompano Beach, and Riviera Beach. Work will be performed at 11300 NW South River Dr, Miami and an active, valid FLDL is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Retention and New Associate Experience: Administer and facilitate the District’s onboarding program; lead, coach and support onboarding Ambassadors; train managers to ensure proper associate support; identify trends from feedback and propose solutions to address retention challenges.
  • Talent Management: Guide district team development through coaching; advise supervisors on impactful development plans; monitor progress and escalate issues; prepare documents for succession planning; execute training plans including new supervisor onboarding and just-in-time training for leaders.
  • Talent Acquisition and Workforce Planning: Collaborate with departments to determine staffing needs; support recruiting efforts through partnerships with technical schools, universities, and local channels; connect field recruiters with the District Manager to shape recruiting strategies.
  • Associate and Labor Relations: Build relationships that foster a positive, engaging culture; advise on HR policies, procedures, and collective bargaining agreements; participate in investigations and provide recommendations; support risk assessments and reinforce positive associate relations training.
  • HR Expertise & Compliance: Stay current on applicable employment laws; ensure legal compliance through regular analysis; focus on compensation parity, wage-hour rules, I-9 and associate handbook acknowledgment; meet mandated training requirements such as Harassment Prevention and Workplace Violence; escalate compensation issues and partner with centralized corporate resources for matters including benefits, diversity & inclusion, and leave management.
  • Acquisitions & New Business Opportunities: Lead the integration and assimilation of new associates through onsite meetings, onboarding, staffing, and training.
  • Undertake additional projects and tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience in a Human Resources role, or relevant field operations experience with demonstrated success at Penske.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • SHRM or HRCI Certification(s) preferred (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP).
  • Knowledge of employment law and regulatory compliance issues.
  • Strong presentation, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collect, compile, and analyze information and data.
  • High level of honesty, integrity, and ethics.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint with a basic understanding of enterprise-wide HRIS systems.
  • Valid Driver's License and willingness to travel up to 30-50%, including potential overnight travel.
  • Ability to comply with Penske’s employment application process, background investigation, and drug screening.
