Job Description

Position Overview

This posting is a DIRECT HIRE SOLICITATION for electronics engineering positions within the Federal service. Qualified candidates must meet the basic requirement of either earning a bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET‐accredited program or providing a combination of college‐level education, training, and technical experience that demonstrates a thorough knowledge of physical and mathematical sciences. Candidates will be involved in supporting the planning, execution, and instrumentation of electronics engineering tests, providing engineering support for system evaluations, and coordinating activities with engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support planning, execution, and instrumentation of electronics engineering tests.
  • Provide engineering support for tests, assessments, experiments, and system evaluations.
  • Coordinate and direct engineering activities in operations and maintenance of advanced hardware and facilities.
  • Develop analytical methods, tools, standards, and simulation models to support engineering test planning.

Required Qualifications

  • Must meet the basic requirements:
    • A bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET‐accredited program, or
    • A combination of education and technical experience that provides a thorough understanding of engineering sciences.
  • Specialized experience requirements:
    • GS-11: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level.
    • GS-12: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level.
    • GS-13: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level.
    • GS-14: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level.
    • GS-15: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities include:
    • Proficiency in electronics engineering concepts, principles, methods, and standard practices.
    • Experience with computer aided design and drafting (CADD) programs.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills in conveying factual and procedural information.
  • Submission of academic transcripts is required when education is used to qualify.
