Software Engineer III (Full Stack)

Position Overview

Lead is a fintech building banking infrastructure for embedded financial products and services. Operating an FDIC-insured bank headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri with offices in San Francisco, Sunnyvale, and New York City, Lead blends regulatory and technological expertise to help fintech partners scale their operations with compliance and creativity. Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain APIs, applications, and backend systems with a focus on performance, scalability, and usability.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and key stakeholders to implement features that address both product goals and customer needs.
• Prioritize effectively, develop systems from the ground up, and navigate ambiguous problem domains.
• Mentor team members and uphold a consistent track record of high performance and delivery.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience with a proven track record of shipping successful projects.
• Passionate about building large-scale applications and systems in a cloud native environment (preferably AWS).
• Strong command of multiple languages (preferably TypeScript/JavaScript and Go and/or Java).
• Comfortable working between backend and frontend systems.
• Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining a high-quality code base while delivering challenging projects on schedule.
• Ability to collaborate and compromise to achieve the best outcomes.
• Strong communication skills and the capacity to work cross-functionally with stakeholders.
• Curiosity, humility, and an open attitude toward learning.

Preferred Qualifications

• Fintech experience is a plus.
• Ability to excel in a fluid environment with high autonomy.

• Compensation Range: Zone 1: $180,000 - $210,000 (SF/Bay Area, NYC).
